VolleyWood

Terms of use

Effective from 21 October 2026.

1. The Portal and its owner

The website https://bv.unitex.cy (the "Portal") is owned by CY UNITEX HOLDING LTD (Cyprus), reg. no. HE431387, Cyprus, Limassol, Roikou, 1, office@unitex.cy (the "Company", "we"). The Portal provides software tools for publishing and running amateur sports tournaments, training sessions, sign-up, schedules, results and rankings. By creating an account or using the Portal you accept these Terms. Where the law requires separate consent or another act, using the Portal does not in itself replace it. The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. Independent events and the Company's role

Unless an event page expressly says otherwise, the event is run by an independent organiser or coach, not by the Company. Publishing an event on the Portal, automatic draws, rating calculation, access to the scoreboard and notifications do not make the Company an organiser, employer, agent, insurer or guarantor of the organiser's obligations. We are not a party to arrangements between a participant and an organiser about fees, refunds, admission and the provision of services unless expressly stated.

3. The Company as an organiser of its own events

We may organise tournaments, training sessions and other events through the Portal ourselves. In that case the event page clearly names CY UNITEX HOLDING LTD as the organiser, and we are responsible as the organiser of that event. We use the same tools and publication rules as other organisers; this does not create liability for other people's events.

4. Duties of organisers and coaches

Whoever creates an event independently sets its terms and is responsible for organising and running it: venue, rules, equipment, admission, age limits, safety, first aid, permits, insurance where needed, refereeing, schedule, public communications, fees, refunds, taxes, video recording, processing of personal data for their own purposes, and disputes. The organiser must give an accurate description of the event and their contacts and must not pass themselves off as the Company or another organiser. The Portal does not confirm an organiser's qualifications or authority unless separately announced. Organisers and coaches receive only the information needed for their event and may not use it for unsolicited advertising, selling databases or other purposes.

5. Participants and sporting risks

A participant assesses their own fitness and the conditions of participation and accepts the ordinary risks of physical activity. Volleyball is a contact sport; injuries can occur and participation may have adverse consequences. A participant follows lawful rules and reasonable requirements of the organiser. The Portal gives no medical advice. Accepting sporting risks does not exclude a person's liability for acts or omissions that cannot be excluded by law, including for their own unlawful conduct.

6. Account and conduct

You may register from age 14; for people under 18 additional conditions may apply, and where the law requires it the consent of a parent or legal guardian is needed. Rules on legal capacity and on taking part in events are not changed by this threshold. You give true details, keep your password safe, are responsible for actions under your account, do not impersonate anyone and do not create profiles of other people. One person — one account and one player profile.

You must not: provide other people's personal data without their consent; post offensive, unlawful or misleading material; interfere with the Portal, guess passwords or collect data automatically; falsify results or abuse applications; take someone else's profile through "This is me".

7. Photos, video and streams

An independent organiser who decides to take photos or video is responsible for informing participants, determining the legal basis under GDPR, the lawfulness of publication and the retention of recordings. Information about filming and the organiser's contact are shown on the event page before you apply. Applying does not in itself count as valid consent to any use of your image or voice: if the organiser relies on consent, they must obtain it properly, and if they rely on another basis, they must justify it themselves. Special safeguards apply to minors. We are responsible for those operations with the embedded player and the material we post ourselves whose purposes and means we determine ourselves.

8. Results and your content

Organisers and referees enter information about results and participants. Scores, places, statistics and rankings are informational and are not official rankings of sports federations. We may correct technical errors and review reports of incorrect or unlawful posts, but we do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of information entered by third parties. Your photo, name and other material remain yours. By uploading them you confirm you are entitled to use them and grant us a non-exclusive right to show them on the Portal free of charge to the extent needed for it to work, subject to the law and your privacy settings. The Portal, its design, code, texts and logos belong to us or our licensors; you may not copy them without permission.

9. Provided "as is"

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Portal and its features are provided "as is" and "as available" (AS IS / AS AVAILABLE), without any promise of uninterrupted operation, absence of errors, safety of data, delivery of every notification, reliability of users' material, or that any independent event published on it will take place or go as planned. We may update, restrict and discontinue features in compliance with applicable rules and users' mandatory rights.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for the independent decisions, acts or omissions of independent organisers, coaches, referees, participants, spectators and other third parties, including the safety and organisation of events, cancellations, payments, injuries and disputes between them, or for failures of third-party services (hosting, messenger, video hosting, notification services), where there is no legal ground for our liability.

These Terms do not exclude or limit our liability that cannot be excluded by law: for death or personal injury caused by our fault, for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for our own breaches, including liability under GDPR, or mandatory consumer rights (including under the law of your country of residence).

11. Organiser's reimbursement of costs

To the extent permitted by law, the organiser reimburses us for reasonable, necessary and documented costs and losses arising from the organiser's breach of the law or these Terms, if and insofar as they are legally recoverable. This does not cover the consequences of our own unlawful conduct and does not limit mandatory consumer rights.

12. Payments

Unless separate terms expressly provide otherwise, payments for independent events and classes are made between the participant and the organiser or coach outside the Portal. We do not accept such payments, hold entry fees or set refund rules unless we are named on the page as the payee. Payment marks entered by users do not mean that we are party to a payment transaction.

13. Reports, blocking and termination

We may review reports of unlawful content and rule violations, restrict access, hide material, correct or anonymise a profile, block an account or event, in compliance with the law and applicable procedures. You can report via "Contacts" or the report button on the page. You may stop using the Portal at any time and ask for your data to be deleted (see the Privacy Policy).

14. Governing law and disputes

The law of the Republic of Cyprus applies, preserving the mandatory consumer rights under EU law and the law of your country. The competent courts of Cyprus do not deprive a consumer of the right to sue where they live where that right is mandatory under the applicable law.

15. Changes and contact

The current version of the Terms and its effective date are published on this page. We will tell you about material changes in a way appropriate to their nature and legal requirements, including in the Portal's notifications. Enquiries: office@unitex.cy and the "Contacts" form on the Portal.
